1984 U.S. Track Cycling Olympic Silver Medalist Nelson Vails will be a "celebrity announcer" at this Sunday's race, sharing the commentary with Fort Collins cycling celebs Andy Clark and Rob Noble. Nelson followed his Olympic success with a strong international pro cycling career, including Keirin racing in Japan, and makes his home in Colorado. He was featured in the 80's Kevin Bacon hit movie Quicksilver. The "omnium" 6 Day Championship prize money is growing for a big finish and payout on the 16th, but come out this Sunday August 9 for week 5. Registration and warm-up 3-4:45. Reg closes and racing begins at 4:45 PM and runs until 7:30 or so. A schedule is online at fcvelodrome.org.
