Sixteen Boulder County students are winners of the 18th annual University of Northern Colorado Mathematics Contest, which attracted more than 1500 participants from grades 7 through 12 this year.

The winners included Fairview High School students Cissy Chen  (second place overall), Ben Alpert (third place overall), Chris Guthrie (ninth place overall), Haorui Zhang (ninth place overall), Charles Xu (eleventh grade winner), Kyle Christensen (ninth grade winner), Will Conway (tenth grade honorable mention), Nicolas Ledru (tenth grade honorable mention), and Kevin Chen (ninth grade honorable mention); Alexander Dawson School students Hunter Chase (eleventh place overall) and Curt Feinberg (ninth grade winner); Peak to Peak Charter School students Amelia Hankla (ninth grade honorable mention) and Christopher Chen (seventh grade honorable mention); Monarch High School student Eric Walker (ninth grade honorable mention); Southern Hills Middle School student Jesse Zhang (twelfth place overall), and Summit Middle Charter School student Albert Soh (twelfth place overall).

The winners from around the state will be honored at an awards banquet on April 11.
