Similar to the shot put, the Scottish "putting the stone", uses a 17 pound rock. The athlete is allowed a seven and a half foot run up to launch the stone. Furthest distance wins. This competition took place at the Highland Scottish Festival in Estes Park, CO on Sept 5 - 7.
