It's spring time, time for love and for making babies! These two American Avocets are "in the mood" and are performing their mating ritual. She assumed the pose, lying low in the water, her eyes barely above the surface, and after moving about near her as is part of that ritual, he has just jumped on her back and is touching her beak with his.
