“Loveland Firefighters Local 3566 is extremely grateful for the donation from COUNTRY Financial to our firefighter assistance fund,” said Craig Willard, president Local 3566, Loveland Fire Rescue Authority.  “The generosity will help us contribute to members experiencing hardships from significant medical expenses and treatments, as well as recover from local disasters and other unforeseen emergencies.  Donations like these are especially beneficial, with firefighters being up to two times more likely to contract certain types of cancers from exposure to smoke and toxic chemicals commonly experienced in day-to-day operations and a generally higher risk of injury throughout all our missions.”

A program from COUNTRY Financial called Operation Helping Heroes helped Rowland make this happen. Through the program, COUNTRY Financial representatives can identify heroes in their communities and do something personal to give back.

“I’m a former firefighter are remember the days when we stood on the back of the engine and held on the rail for dear life while roaring down the road with sirens and lights flashing,” said Rowland. “It was an amazing time of my life and I know what it is like to be the person running towards something that everyone else is running from. These men and women are so committed to what they do and are true everyday heroes. I’m honored to contribute in some way and recognize them with this Operation Helping Heroes award.”

COUNTRY Financial has donated more than $4 million since 2020 to organizations and programs that support teachers, first responders, active-duty service members and veterans, supporting the company’s vision to “enrich lives in the communities we serve.” The Operation Helping Heroes program was created in 2015 to support non-profit events and programs that benefit active-duty service members, veterans and their families. Later, the program expanded to include first responders and teachers.

Unfortunately the answer is Yes. This comes as a big surprise to poeple but they usually don't find out that this is true until they get a DUI for sleeping in their car.

The law states that if you're in control of the vehicle you can be convicted of a DUI regardless of if you are driving or not. This means that the idea of sleeping it off in a car may land you in jail facing DUI charges.

Hello! I wrote this about our assistant golf professional at our country club who hit three hole-in-ones within a month. It's so incredibly unusual to make that many hole-in-ones ever, let alone in one month. All were witnessed and photographed (attached) and I can provide more details if you want to pick up the story. Would be nice for him.

On March 14, 2022 Andrew Drea made a hole-in-one on the Boulder Country Club Championship course. He remembers the date because it was his dog’s birthday. He hit a 192 yard shot with his 6 iron on hole number 11. It was complemented by a birdie on hole 11 and a birdie on hole 12.

No later than fourteen days later on the Fowler course at Boulder Country Club, Andrew hit a second hole-in-one on March 28, 2022. This time with his pitching wedge on hole number 6 for 138 yards.

Then, nearly one month after his initial hole-in-one and only 21 days after his second hole-in-one, Andrew made his third hole-in-one on Thorncreek golf course. It was his first time playing the course. On lucky hole number 7, Andrew tee’d off with his 8 iron, 168 yards back. Originally he had his 9 iron in his hand but due to a gust of wind at the last second he swapped it out for his 8 iron. Had he stayed with the 9 iron, his shot would have been short of the hole.

Andrew knew after he hit his second hole-in-one that month that he would hole a third. “Good things come in threes,” he said.

Andrew Drea is an Assistant Golf Professional at Boulder Country Club (BCC). He’s been on staff with BCC since 2019 and graduated from Penn State University with a BS in Recreation, Park & Tourism with an emphasis in Professional Golf Management.

Andrew’s email is adrea@bouldercc.org for further questions or details.
