A Comfortable And Scientific Keyboard Will Popular
(Credit:Battery News)As anyone that spends eight hours or more in front of a computer knows, a proper ergonomic peripheral set up is crucial to enjoying a comfortable work day and alleviating arthritic pain down the road. Smartfish and Hitachi Maxell have partnered up and announced what they claim to be the next generation of ergonomic peripherals, starting with the ErgoMotion keyboard-- a creative input device that shifts angles to accommodate the ever-changing hand positions users experience throughout the day.You might need some time to adjust to the ErgoMotion Keyboard's uniquely curvy design, there's no denying its ability to alleviate stress on the wrists and fingertips for A1175 battery, A1079 battery. Over time, the keyboard uses onboard intelligence to monitor the style and frequency of your typing and develops a system to automatically change position, preventing repetitive injury and encouraging circulation to your digits as your work.
It certainly seems that 2010 will be filled with entries in the tablet PC market, though, providing users with a variety of options for flat-panel, touch-screen, Web-enabled devices to replace more cumbersome netbooks and notebooks for Sony-VGP-BPS2A battery .As far as the touchscreen, no big improvements over any other Android 1.5 device; typing is still a bit clunky, but navigation is on par with the rest of the pack. No confirmation on carrier yet, but we wouldn't be surprised to see it land on AT&T later this year.
It remains to be seen if the Apple "iSlate" or Microsoft "Courier will actually materialize for Sony-VGP-BPS8 battery , but HP, Dell, Lenovo, Fusion Garage, and a plethora of other manufacturers are all lining up a diverse array of tablet PC's to release this year. The Smartfish ErgoMotion Keyboard will be available for purchase in March 2010 for $150. More pictures of the device after the jump.
The challenge will be to clearly define to consumers and businesses why they should invest in tablets vs. netbooks or notebooks, differentiate the devices from glorified Kindle or iPod Touch devices like VGP-BPS2A, and deliver them at a reasonable price in relation to the functionality they provide.
The All-encompassing Role Of Head Coach
(battery blog)The all-encompassing role of head coach evolved in the early 1980s when major cable networks began to negotiate broadcasting contracts with universities independently.Suddenly, head coaches had to, in theory, operate the largest revenue-generating vehicle at their universities in addition to merely coaching a winning team.
College football broadcasts began before World War II, but it wasn’t until 1950 when prominent football programs were able to formulate contracts with networks via NCAA supervision for Apple A1175 battery .The University of Pennsylvania struck a deal with ABC for $150,000 to broadcast all home games while Notre Dame hooked on with the DuMont Television Network. After the 1950 season for Sony-VGP-BPS2, the NCAA forced Penn and Notre Dame out of their respective contracts over fear that broadcasts would discourage fans from attending games. Threats of antitrust hearings drove the NCAA to allow some sold-out games to be broadcasted the following season.
Over the next 30 years, the NCAA would alter its grand plan of restrictions to allow eight nationally-televised games a season. The Big Ten Conference pressured the NCAA to allow regional telecasts for Dell KD476 battery , as well. By 1955, the NCAA agreed to allow regional telecasts during five hand-picked weeks of the season. This agreement was sufficient until the University of Oklahoma decided to challenge the NCAA.
Unhappy with the limited ability to broadcast, and market, its football program, Oklahoma sued the NCAA in 1981, accusing the institution of antitrust violations for A1175 battery . The Sooners weren’t happy with simply being part of the NCAA’s ultimate cash cow.If universities are supplying the product, why should a glorified cartel reap the majority of the benefits?College football programs experienced newfound freedom when, in June 1984, the Supreme Court declared the NCAA violated the Sherman Antitrust Act with its crooked television plan.
The NCAA v. Board of Regents of University of Oklahoma case officially allowed universities and conferences to negotiate their own contracts with broadcast networks for Dell KD476, initiating a boom in the cable television industry while increasing the proximity of college football’s most glamorous brands.Programs didn’t leap at the opportunity during the formative years, however. Most universities didn’t want to be the pioneers of the movement, so they continued to negotiate their broadcast contracts through the College Football Association .
Urban Meyer Would Be Stepping Down As The Head Coach At Florida
(battery blog)Whether the headaches and chronic chest pains are anything more than products of the job we will never know, at least not until Urban Meyer exposes more personal details about his health, but suffice to say that the University of Florida football coach isn’t the only one.A day after Meyer announced to the nation that he would be stepping down as the head coach at Florida, the Gator legend rescinded his words and said only a leave of absence would be necessary.
Meyer checked into a hospital after the SEC Championship game against Alabama to be treated for “dehydration,” but nothing more than faulty smoke alarms and hysteria spurned from that A1175 battery . I think there’s more to it, but I’ll listen to the medical reports for now.In a press conference Sunday, Meyer confirmed he will be coaching the Gators on New Year’s Day against the Cincinnati Bearcats in the Sugar Bowl–what, you thought there was even a remote chance Meyer would miss Tim Tebow’s last game?–and then taking a little break from his duties as the caretaker of one of America’s most prestigious college sport programs.
Despite his obvious desire to get away from football and the strenuous time constraints that come with the job, Meyer expects to still be the coach at Florida next fall.“I do in my gut believe that will happen,” Meyer told the Associated Press for Dell KD476 battery . “To not try would not be the right thing to do.”Not exactly.Surrendering himself to the long hours it takes to build a national champion–and the enormous stress that comes with such expectations–if his short- or long-term health is in legitimate jeopardy would not be the right thing to do.
Proceeding in a waffling manner and not giving athletic director Jeremy Foley a definitive answer as to whether or not he needs to search for a new head coach would not be the right thing to do.But stepping down to make sure that for Dell KD476 battery , at 45-years-old, Meyer is healthy enough to live many more happy years with his wife and three children would have been a perfectly honorable decision.
A man must take care of himself so he can take care of his family. It’s called priorities. It’s called perspective. Nobody would have knocked Meyer for showing a little bit of both.Sure for Apple A1175 battery , Florida’s swamp of relentlessly loyal fans would have been disappointed to see the man who brought them two National Championships in five seasons walk away so early, but they would have understood.
Now, I’m sure they are giddy that Meyer intends to continue to coach. If he’s healthy, that’s great. You can only live a dream so long. This decision may impact Gainesville more than any other town in America, but the story behind the madness does not. It hits them all.Meyer is not the only coach to experience headaches for Sony-VGP-BPS2, chest pains, dizziness, high stress, and any other symptoms that eat away at your soul and mind.

The case of the racist Become Headache For HP
(Source:battery blog)By now, you may have seen the viral Youtube video (above) where a black man and a white woman point out the shortcomings of an HP Media Smart web cam when it came to tracking the man's face for A1175 . It's a video -- titled "HP computers are racist" -- that's done with some fun, but it's darn effective in pointing out an embarassing shortcoming of the HP product in a way that quickly became a PR headache for the company.
The topic of facial-recognition tech intrigued me, so I called up Bill Anderson, head of Oculis Labs in Owings Mills, which makes Private Eye, a sophisticated face and gaze-tracking software for security uses of HP F4809A. Bill's been working on face-recognition tech for awhile. Below are key points and quotes from my interview with him today:
* There can be settings or environments where a facial recognition system finds it very hard to understand what it's looking at, Bill said. "A very white face like mine ... will not get picked up on some backgrounds if they are a pinkish or yellowish kind of color."
* "It's a relatively hard problem to make a facial recognition packgage smart enough to find faces in arbitrary environments for Dell C1295 ," Bill said.
* "There's actually less difference between human skin tones [black vs. white], as far as the camera is concerned, than meets the eye."
* Computer software can't compete with the brain in terms of facial recognition. "The human brain has a disproportionate amount of its processing power dedicated to face recognition like HP F4809A. A huge part of the brain is hard-coded to recognize faces. It starts since birth. It instinctively locks onto faces.... You can think of it as the human brian is several orders of magnititude more capable than the best supercomputers we have on earth, in terms of recignizing faces. That's the competition."
* Software typially is only capable of a "few bag of tricks" in its capacity to find and recognize a face, Bill said.
* Typical steps in software to find faces include: The software first is designed to locate an oblong shape (the head), then it goes looking for the eyes, which are typically two darker spots in the upper part of the oblong shape like VGP-BPS2A. Then the software goes looking for a nose, or a mouth, or lips. Once through those steps, the software determines whether it has a candidate for a face. That's just the "first pass."
The second pass involves gauging skin tone, considering intensity and color. "There a narrow band of intensity [regardless of actual skin color] that's unique" to all human skin, he said for KD476,. "It's looking at something that looks like skin," he said. The third pass will look for motion, to determine if the image is "acting like a face," and not a static object, like a poster of a human face, Bill said. "Our software looks for motion, because a face moves."
* What Bill thinks might have gone wrong in HP's case: "My guess is that of the various parameters the software uses to determine a face, that face was probably triggering only some of those parameters. It probably found the head and eyes.... but there was something else it didn't find. Something didn't pass that threshold like HP F4809A. I don't think it was skin tone because his skin was clearly not the same as the background behind him. It wasn't a contrast problem... Now, it could've been the color band of the skin set by the software was a little bit too low, and the software was looking for skin tone that fit within a certain color band. It could've been the way that his skin tone looked at that particular lighting
* Bill has 250 people in his beta program who help test Oculis software. "We've had issues too, where software would not recognize a face."
* There are good (software) packages out there, but there are no perfect packages out there like VGP-BPS2... and there probably never will be. They're just working at an incredible computational disadvantage compared to the human brain."
* Said Bill: "Having looked at that ["HP computers are racist"] video, I think the software we're using would've found it's face. I'd love to try for VGP-BPS2A. I'd suspect that HP has a little bit of work to do to fix their algorithms. I'm sure they'll fix them, but it's a little bit disappointitng they didn't have it working right the first time."

Apple’s Attempt to Conquer Video Via Subscriptions
(battery blog)Apple is planning to offer television subscriptions over the internet, according to multiple industry sources, and so far CBS and Walt Disney are considering the idea.
The subscription service would involve allowing customers access to some TV shows from participating networks for a monthly fee, anonymous sources have told with Presario 2500 Battery. The subscription content would presumably be integrated into the iTunes Store and iTunes-compatible hardware. Though Disney and CBS are rumored to be interested, the companies have not officially commented on their plans.
Assuming the rumors are true, a subscription model would be Apple’s second major move to seize the digital video market. The Cupertino, California, company introduced the Apple TV in 2007, which stores and plays video content downloaded through iTunes for VGP-BPS2. However, Apple has repeatedly referred to the Apple TV as a “hobby,” implying the product has not made a serious dent in the entertainment market.
Also, the iTunes Store’s offering of video content pales in comparison to competitors’ catalogs. In March, Apple reported the iTunes Store had accumulated 40,000 downloadable TV episodes and 5,000 movies like Toshiba-PA3399U-1BRS. Around the same time, Netflix, which offers a rental service in addition to streaming-video hardware, had amassed 100,000 DVD titles and 12,000 choices of streaming content.
Apple’s rumored subscription strategy, if successful, could reshape the TV industry by offering a compelling (and presumably cheaper) alternative to the pricey bundles sold by television providers for PA3399U-1BRS. However, it will be tricky for Apple to get TV networks on board, said James McQuivey, a Forrester analyst who focuses on the consumer video market.
“It’s very hard to walk into these folks’ door and say, ‘I’m going to deliver revenue to you,’ when in the past few years they haven’t been able to do that,” said McQuivey, in a phone interview. How could Apple persuade networks for Presario 2500 Battery? The video-subscription strategy could work if Apple implements a streaming model, McQuivey said. Presumably that would involve allowing iTunes customers to stream TV shows without downloading them straight to their hard drives.
